Leadership Program OfferingS

We have partnered with the Bishop Center for Ethical Leadership and Civic Engagement at the University of South Florida at St. Petersburg, Florida to deliver this unique district leadership program that combines the study of appreciate organizing with active implementation of a significant, locally designed intervention project.

Emerging district leaders will participate in a twelve-month program starting with three-day workshops in Florida, continuing online with our professional consultants every month following, and concluding with a two-day summative evaluation workshop the following year.

PROGRAM DETAILS

The leadership program is both an introduction to Appreciative Organizing in Education as well as an in depth study of implementation science to assist in the planning, design, and full application of a selected district-level innovation. The leadership program will satisfy district continuing education credits or (CEUs).  Graduate credit is also available through USF-St. Petersburg. This unique program will be offered annually each calendar year in Florida. District leadership program completion requires attending and/or participating in all three segments of the program.

Twenty-five educators, from superintendents to principals and three professors, met for three days to discover meaningful affirmative topics within a positive strengths-based change perspective.  The Center for Appreciative Organizing in Education's inaugural District Leadership Program was a great success. Program Outcomes:
  • Appreciative Organizing Capacity: Participants will master understanding of the 6 spheres of the framework for Appreciative Organizing in Public Education and identify its uses and benefits within their school communities.
  • Theory of Action: Participants will use the tenets and practices of Appreciative Inquiry and Active Implementation to create a new theory of action to move forward their change agendas.
  • Improved Teaching and Learning: Participants will identify, design, and implement a systems change agenda for their districts utilizing the program content above. 
  • Positive Change Network: Participants will have a network of district leaders committed to sharing their growth and development in utilizing a positive strengths-based approach to change in public education.
